Return to Business Bites back issues
In this issue we show how to use mind mapping constructively; give seven time saving business tips and suggest how you can boost your profile at work.
I can hardly believe that a month has passed since I sat down to write the last issue of Business Bites. People often moan about having too much to do at work. I know that in extreme cases this can lead to debilitating levels of stress and even burn out. If you’re feeling this way, then I suggest you read Susan Metcalfe’s recent blog on the subject and then take her advice – go and talk to your doctor. But in my own case, having plenty to do means that the days fly by and because my job is so varied, I’m never bored.
But enough of that – let’s get on with what we have for you this month. First we’re going to look at how you can stay visible at work. When you’ve worked for the same company for some time you can sometimes feel that newer recruits are getting all the attention and your hard work is being overlooked. So here’s an article on how you can get noticed – in a good way!
Next, there never seems quite enough time in the day, does there? Especially if you’re trying to keep a business running in difficult times or launch a new product or service. Most of us need better time management skills and this blog post gives seven great tips to concentrate your mind.
Finally whichever course you are studying – or plan to study – you could find mind mapping a useful tool. The technique can help you to learn more effectively and also takes up less room than conventional notes. So why not give it a try?
Enjoy!
