In this issue we look at making the most of the networking events you attend; honing your project management skills and ensuring you achieve maximum efficiency and productivity every day.

I do find ezines related to my work useful – and I’m not just saying that because I edit one! If I select what I read wisely, I get some really good ideas from them. One of my favourite is TrainingZone and a recent article caught my attention. It’s an excerpt from The Happy Handbook – A Compendium of Modern Life Skills by Liggy Webb. I tend to be a bit of a pessimist and I particularly worry about the pace of change in the technology we use. As I’ve said before, I’m a bit of a Luddite! So I found the following tips from the article very useful: .

Be willing and open to change.
Change little things every day.
Understand the feelings change brings.
Keep some things the same.
Be around positive people.
Find out the reasons behind the changes.
Understand the transition process.
Don’t take change personally.
Take responsibility for your own change management.

OK, now onto what we’ve got for you this month. Most of the people I know don’t really enjoy networking – they feel it’s something they’ve got to do if they want to get on in the business world. So, we’re going to look at some tips for making the whole thing more bearable.

Next, we’ve got a short quiz which you can use to check how good your project management skills are. And if you find they’re lacking, then why not enrol on our brand new Project Management Course? It’s packed with useful information whether your project is a multi-million pound dam or simply painting your kitchen!

Finally, I make no apologies for returning to the topic of time management. Whether you run your own business, work for someone else or are a home-maker, the ability to organise your time effectively is one of your most important assets.

So, enjoy!
